A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIR OF TRUSTEES
Dear GAM family
Along with you all, we are facing uncertain times. Behind the scenes, we have been busy planning how to negotiate these unchartered waters in the coming weeks and months. Gloucestershire Academy of Music is intending to celebrate 40 years of arts education activity, as planned, in 2021!
We are looking at ways of getting through the next few months. Although income from our usual courses, lessons and projects has come to a sudden halt, we still have to find ways of paying our building costs and ensuring that our core team can continue to plan for a strong future at GAM.
We have quickly set up a system for providing one-to-one instrumental lessons online and we are piloting a way of providing at least some of our group theory lessons and music-making sessions online. Give us a week or two to try out these new ways of working. Once this research and planning is done, we hope to launch a new programme of music activities in time for the start of term on Saturday 25 April.
GAM continues to raise funds for our bursary scheme. Some of our families are facing imminent hardship but would manage to continue their child’s participation in online GAM courses with the help of a bursary. If you are able to help us with this, please get in touch through firstname.lastname@example.org
GAM’s Board of Trustees and staff team send our best wishes to all of our students, parents/carers, teachers and volunteers. Please continue to support us and stay in touch. We hope to be working with you all again as soon as possible.
