Music in Schools
Gloucestershire Academy of Music works with over 40 schools all over Gloucestershire.
Some of our schools have invited our teachers back in to teach face-to-face. Where this is not possible, we teach our students online.
We are currently able to offer schools the following services:
Whole-class Ensemble Tuition in wind, brass or strings for KS2
Whole-class general musicianship to help children become 'instrument ready' for KS1. This programme is called 'Ready Steady Play'.
We hope to restart our gamelan workshops in Barbican House from January 2021.
‘Gloucestershire Academy of Music has greatly enhanced music provision in our school.’ John Coles, Head teacher, Heron Primary School.
Our teachers are highly motivated and skilled musicians. They have all gone through a rigorous interview process to ensure that professional teaching standards are met. Gloucestershire Academy of Music is currently supplying peripatetic teachers to over 20 primary schools in the Gloucestershire area, teaching over 250 pupils between them.
